Pilates

We often hear that Pilates works you from the inside out, but what a lot of people don’t realize is that this is literally true. Many of the exercises are designed to work all layers of muscle and to help clients achieve a balanced and toned overall muscular system. By stabilizing spine, hips, pelvis, shoulders, head & neck as well as strengthening the core muscles, clients can achieve great flexibility through all of the major muscle groups, and develop that graceful yet athletic look.

Focus is placed on precise movements originating from the center or core of your body. Working from the deepest layers of muscles, which stabilize and support your spine and pelvis, resulting in a strong, flexible spine with ideal posture and alignment. Classes emphasize the foundational principals of Pilates while offering modifications and variations to suit each students individual needs.

Please bring any props you wish to enhance your practice (optional: neck pillow, bolster, knee cushions, core ball, weighted toning balls, etc. We use professional Pilates high mats for those pre-registered for this class. We have many community yoga mats & blocks to borrow available first come first serve.
